I mean, in Nicaragua our government doesn't like their form of government, and when they try to do something about it everybody gets into an uproar about interfering with their god-given rights to govern the way they want. In South Africa, we don't like the way they run their government and everybody gets into an uproar because we DON'T get involved. What gives? Why the double standard?? I hear that we don't like Africa because the white people treat the black people like shit. How about the black leaders? They treat everybody like shit. Anybody remember Idi Amin? And no, I'm not saying black people like to torture people, just making a point. Our mass of people who like to get involved keep saying we should 'do something', probably the same people who say 'get out of central america'. They don't consider that the things we do are liable to hurt the black people who are already oppressed a whole lot more than the white/black people who are in power already. Face it, if you have control of a country or large corporation you can survive rough times a lot better than if you slave away in a gold mine. Especially if the tough times are brought on because nobody buys your gold anymore. And how about your hero and mine, the Most Revered Jerry Falwell, who says bishop Tutu isn't doing his country any good at all? I remember 20 years ago when he thought black was what happened when the lights went out, and niggers were people from the ghetto who just needed some sense beat into them to get them back in line. Who the friggen hell is he to judge the bishop? I vote we give him a policeman's uniform and stick him in the middle of a riot, with only Mr. Tutu available to save his fat holier- than-yours-and-my ass. I am immediatly joining my local chapter of the immoral minority. Granted, apartheid is pretty bad, but so is communism. Both types of social structure/government treat their citizins like donkey doo doo, it's just that communists don't have many black people available to discriminate against. I thing they did the sed command '/black_people/s//jewish_people/' on their population a few years ago, but as Jews are usually white the evening news coverage isn't as dramatic. And while I'm on the subject, I really hate those jerks with the 4' headlights on their 4WDs. Please note this is the only opinion I express in this article. If you want to mail somebody flames send them to srt@ucla, he's used to them by now. I have yet to run across anyone who would agree with my opinions, let alone my employer, DEC, AT&T, C-itoh, Eagle, Sun, or whoever makes the desk this terminal resides upon.
