References: - Now that all of us Amiga owners (actually hoping to be an Amgia owner soon) and admirers have our own news group, I'd like to bring up a couple of questions. I'm hoping that there will soon be lots of public domain programs for the Amiga. There certainlly has been a lot for the MAC and we should be able to do as well as they have. What kind of file transfer protocals would be the best to pass programs, data files, etc. for the Amiga over USENET? I know that some have been worked out for the MAC, but I do not know any of the details of them. Could someone explain the MAC protocals to me? Beyond the fundementals, I see two important funtions that need to be considered. How to transfers binary data. How to handle compression of data. Any suggestions on these? It would be a great idea to have a set of programs available early on to allow file transfers. Mail your ideas to me and I will post interesting ones to the net. P.S. Is there a terminal emulator available for the Amiga? Is anyone working on one? Tom Granvold Tymnet ucbvax!oliveb!tymix!granvold
