Most of the software for the Amiga was custom written for Commodore by a British Company called Metacomo. The DOS is based on an operating system developed and extensively tested in the Cambridge Ring network system. This OS was called TRIPOS (after the Cambridge University 3 part degree). I believe they also wrote the Basic and the assembler. My local store says they are expecting 10 on the 15th of September - I am 9th in line ! Mike Gingell ...decvax!mcnc!ecsvax
