Lines: 15 My Mac has bitten the dust. My housemate was running it when the temperature was in the eighties and it apparently just pranged without any smoke or commotion. Now when I turn it on the screen stays dark and I get no startup beep. The little red light is on in the disk drive, but that is it. Except for the lack of smoke this appears to be another case of a fried powerboard. I'm hoping that the repairman will say that something cheap is broken, but I doubt it. My question is, what will it cost to get it fixed? Are we talking about the $200+ range or what? Also, how about some recommendations for add-on fans to keep this from happening again.
