Dobb's does it again! They feature a article on a do-it-yourself SASI interface for the Mac. It is the same stuff that Fastime is selling. The include a listing of the Aztec sources to the drivers, well worth the purchase price. So, you can hack it your self ... or buy it from fastime, either way will save you a bundle over the cost of buying one of those other hard disks. (PLUS, it should run in the hyperdrive realm!) Oh, I flipped through the latest BYTE at the store, Bruce Webster is warning about APPLE's policy of not allowing ROM upgrade to brand-x modified machines. This is the most public statement so far of this often rumored horror! Since so many people will see this, I wonder if this will force APPLE to clear the air on this issue! (God, I hope so.) I have been waiting to upgrade my machine, but I am unwilling to do it until I know that I have a growth path into the new ROMs. -- George Erhart at AT&T Bell Laboratories Columbus, Ohio 614-860-4021 {ihnp4,cbosgd}!cbdkc1!gwe
