I prefer to settle on a decent company, and then use their "meet or beat"
policy as best I can to improve their advertised prices.  I've had good
experiences with Icon Review (ads in MacWorld, etc, and a decent newsletter/
software review that they send you).  They didn't quite believe some of the
prices, but I had a list of page numbers.  Saved me about $20 on my most
recent order.  

Since the stuff came almost immediately, I didn't worry about the credit card,
but I believe the charge date was the same as the shipping date.
