Well, sports fans, are you ready for the latest and greatest rumor
regarding 'official' mac enhancements from Apple?  I talked to an
Apple dealer Saturday (9/7) who told me that Apple is going to
inform dealers around Sept. 20 about all the new stuff.  He has been
hearing things like:
1) ROM upgrade in October or November
2) Double-sided drives in October or November
3) Big price drop on new Macs before Christmas (not skeptical)

He knew nothing about a big price drop for 128->512 conversions.  In
fact, he expressed interest in how he could start doing it himself
if Apple doesn't "wake up and smell the coffee".

Note: I make no claims about any of this being true.  It sounds like
we will get REAL information soon after Sept. 20, but in true Apple
tradition, it will probably be a different year :-)   :-(
We'll see!
