My wife uses MS-Word to write her papers (she's a historian) and I'd
like to plug in a mouse so that she can use MS-Word the way it was supposed
to be used.

The question is whether there are any mice out there other than the MS Mouse
which work with MS-Word.  Note that Word uses the mouse as a mouse, no
keyboard emulators need apply.  I wouldn't mind getting a MS mouse but they're
kind of expensive and everybody seems to have them back ordered.
