Seems like last I knew, Carl Palmer was the drummer for Asia and that just after Asia's second album, Alpha, came out their lead singer quit. Then Greg Lake stepped in to join Asia as their lead. As a matter of fact, I remember seeing a live concert of Asia, with Lake as lead singer, telecast on MTV from Japan. Now I haven't heard a single thing about Asia since then, and judging from their second album perhaps I now know why, (and I had such high hopes for them too. Remember how they were billed as the Super Group of the Eighties?) So anyway here's my questions: #1. If Greg Lake is rejoining ELP, what is Asia doing for a lead singer? #2. If Greg Lake is rejoining ELP because Asia has disbanded, what ever became of Carl Palmer? Wouldn't they want the original ELP back? #3. During the existence of Asia, what ever became of Keith Emerson? Seems like I don't recall ever hearing about him releasing a solo work during that time. #4. Acording to the net, the new ELP will feature Cozzy Powell on drums. Has anyone heard if the new ELP wants to somewhat follow the style of the old ELP? Or are we to be treated to something entirely different? Anyone with answers, comments, etc. may mail directly to me (use the 'r' key), and I'll post a summary, or if you think the net would like to hear what you have to say, feel free to post a follow-up (use the 'f' key).
