My favorite Sibelius works are his 7th and 5th Symphonys. Yes, Finlandia is also quite pleasent. I was never overly awed by his tone poems frankly. His symphonies have a starkness and power to them that is appealing. The Kalivala (whatever) is appalling as a "National Poem." Sorry to have to say that since I am half Finnish and have always been proud of the culture and my background. But really....
