Lines: 37 Keywords: net.music.gdead Went to the Borreal Ridge concert Saturday 8/24/85. It was one of the weirder ones I've been to. They had major equipment problems. It was so bad that Garcia took a break in the middle of the first set to get the sound fixed. He looked pissed too. They lost the bass in the sound system twords the end of the first set. During New Minglewood Blues Wier screwed up (so whats new?) He sang; " I'm a wanted man in Turkey, busted jail and gone for good." I guess he ment to say Truckie which was about 5 miles away. A wanted man in Soda Springs wouldn't have sounded so good. Thats actually where they were. He said it with a slight hesitation and that look. You know the one. ' I'm fucking up, I know it but what the fuck' look. It was realy funny. He also said " These Turkey phillies all look so good." At first I thought he was talking about dope smugglers, but no he just didn't know where he was. Also a wet naked lady came through the crowd and started climbing on stage during Feel Like a Stranger. Bob was cracking up. He said "you can't get any stranger than that!" She was a serious wet naked lady. Hart was realy hot that day. He was making all kinds of faces. He went wild on the drums when Bob's equipment screwed up. During Day Tripper (the encore) He took a tamborine and started smashing his drums. Borreal Ridge is a realy nice setting. Twords the end of the second set the moon could be seen just over the top of the mountain. Two fighter jets passed over the concert fairly low to the ground and could not be heard. There was a slight parking problem. There were minor promoter problems. This was not a Bill Grahm Production. I found out by asking one of the security gards and he replied "Who is Bill Grant?" The Teeshirts were the best I'd seen in a long time. My only other comment is that the stage should have been moved back to the bottom of the slope so everybody would have had a better view. Does anybody else have any comment about the show? Marty Lefkowitz-- {(ucbvax!dual!sun) (ihnp4!qubix)}!sunncal!leadsv!lefko {{allegra ihnp4 dual}!fortune decvax!decwrl}!amdcad!cae780!leadsv!lefko
