I need some advice from anyone out there in netland.  I am considering
the purchase of another synthesizer and I not quite sure which one to
buy.  At present I have a Roland HP/300 Electronic Piano connected to my
IBM PC via a MIDI interface.  This is what I would like to have in
the next synthesizer that I am considering on purchasing;

	Features I want:

		o Be able to reproduce good string sounds
		  (esp. the violins, and guitar)

		o Be able to produce a good kettle drum sound.
		  (maybe this sound can be handle in a drum 
		   machine, But I've haven't seen one).

		o Be able to configure multiple instruments on
		  the same keyboard and have the ability to play
		  each one seperately. (I think this is called
		  split keyboard).

		o Be able to layer different voices on the 
		  same key. (at least 2).

		o Can be a slave device to my Roland HP/300.

		o Must be able to respone to velocity sensitive
		  midi commands.

I haven't look at very many synth. on the market so I don't know
whats availible.  I'm not looking for an expensive box.  The perfect
synth would be a keyboardless box that I can program through 
my PC (or a master keybord).  I'm also looking for an inexpensive
drum machine (any suggestions ??).

A friend of my has a DX-7 with 2 TF-1 modules/w rack and a drum machines.
He has suggested that I might have to go his route to get set-up 
that I want.

Does anybody know anything about the casio cz-101??
Does I produce good sounds ?

Also, how does the casio cz-5000 compares with the DX-7?  I
heard that they are basically compatible machines.
