Lines: 19 Over the last couple of weeks pesnta has been feeling ill and wanted to take a nap, I said "no", it said "yes" and won. The system is running ok now and should remain in good shape for a while. We had a water sprinkler let loose in the elevator room and the water mixed in with the elevator oil and made a slimey mess out of the first floor and, of course, the Computer rooms. Some Ethernet transceivers and modems under the floor bit the dust and other cables had water/oil enter the connectors and snarl up some ports. Sure has been fun! Also, seems that running long flat modular-style telephone cables under Computer room false floors has greater impact on modem dropouts and noises than I first thought. I replaced the flat cable with twisted pairs and that seems to reduce a lot of my modem problems. We just installed Interlan NTS-10 Network Terminal Servers and that has been a big help on getting rid of lots of bad cables and connections. -earlw Earl Wallace
