Some people have asked in this newsgroup how one can be sure that a voting on the creation of a newsgroup is not rigged. I once conducted such a vote on eunet.jokes (european counterpart to net.jokes). In fact, when I posted the results of the vote, I gave the e-mail address of each voter and the corresponding vote Y/N. So each voter could complain if I misrepresented his/her vote, made a counting mistake ,or forgot to include him/her. (I received no complaint of this nature.) Of course, someone can always encourage his ``friends'' to massively vote yes. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- maldoror@prlb2.UUCP {enea,hirst1,inria,mcvax,munnari,philabs,seismo,unido}!prlb2!maldoror
