USA Lines: 35 x x I've been requested by possibly paranoiacs to post here and say "save net.bizarre!" The standard reasons for killing it seem to be: 1) It's stupid 2) It's not very bizarre 3) It generates tons of files My responses are: 1) So what? Lots of the stuff in net.physics, net.bio, net.legal, net.consumers, net.jokes are pretty stupid too. Net. bizarre is at least clean and enjoyable. Contrast this with net.flame (obnoxious, totally non-factual, and moronic), net.jokes (boring), and the interminable arguments about stuff like parapsychology, radar detectors being a constitutional right, or CIA labs building bugs to kill all the blacks, and you'll see that net.bizarre is at least self-consistent. 2) Bizarre is as bizarre does. Or: depends on your background. 3) So do many other groups, without any guarantee of quality/quantity ratio exceeding 5%. If this is to be a serious usenet, then why not kill ALL groups that don't guarantee to improve corporate productivity? If not, why not rate groups directly by their volume? Please respond by mail--I dont read this group often.
