First of all, let's get off of this talk about "progressive" vs. "regressive" changes. If a change takes place that helps to improve a species chance to live and reproduce, it is by definition a "progressive" change. If it hinders an organisms chance for survival and reproduction, it is a "regressive" change. However, the odds are that we will not see any regressive changes, since the organisms carrying them have all died!!!!! Second point. You have talked about whales losing their legs as a "regressive" change. I think that even you will admit that a "current edition" of a whale could not mate with the former edition that had legs. Therefore, *by definition*, speciation has occured, and YOU ARE ADMITTING THAT EVOLUTION TAKES PLACE.
