I found these on a page dated 10/20/64 which means they were written while
I was in traction following my motorscooter accident.  Perhaps the poem
on that same page is a little more revealing...

	Peace and Quiet of hospital halls

	  holding life in check.
	Quiet peaceful, half mankind.
	  waiting to be free...
	Waiting for the doctor's final
	  Nod or Guess,
	Waiting for the nurse's final
	  pill, and smile.

				silent.
	Foolishly saying, "Life is the Same,"

Seeing these reminds me that I really don't need to worry too much just now;
it's only a divorce, and it'll soon be over...  I won't have to walk with a

limp until I spend a summer in Oregon working on "Blake and Sons, Concessions"
a small carnival that runs around Portland and Hillsboro and even Pendelton.
