Yes, Eretz Yisrael is a land of promise. The land itself is just another hunk of real estate, but the owner of this property we call Earth has special expectations for the residents of that area. Food is very specifically among the blessings/cursings mentioned. Our job is to follow the will of the owner of the land. That is the tough part.
