Why? I can't stand living in a situation where I am surrounded by clowns. Not once did a selection process work in choosing roommates/ flatmates for my dorm (1st year undergrad I went through three, one left after one day (He had a space in a selective dorm he was wait listed for), one joined a friend when his roommate moved out, and one lasted until the end of the year;he smoked, I am allergic to smoke, etc. At grad school I was matched with 5 other grad students in a flat, one hated Americans and liked waking me up at 3AM by trying to break my door down, the others were pretty non descript except that three smoked and none knew how to clean dishes.) Even if you interview people, you have no idea of what you are getting. So I intend to live alone. -- James C.
