I've lived alone most of my life and prefer it.  I have plenty of
friends and spend much of my free time with them, so I'm not actually
alone that much - but when I do want to be alone, it's easy to arrange.
As far as I'm concerned this is probably the preferred arrangement.
Now if you'd define "unnatural", maybe I could comment on that part...
