A ``personals'' newsgroup *does* seem like a good idea.  I wonder,
though, if it shouldn't be a moderated group, mod.personals, so people
can leave articles about themselves without revealing their address.  
Then the moderator would have to forward all the replies.  It seems
like a large job for someone, unless software is available to do it.
