Yeah - I do that all the time. Sometimes specific things will remind me of a person because I connect that person with it because of past incidents or because I know that the person really likes that thing (like, say, drinking fountains, pizza, truffles, or Barry Manilow songs.) And sometimes I'll just see something and wonder if he'll like it. I really like it because it makes things that used to be ordinary, dull, or just mildly pleasing, really special. It's the same concept as in The Little Prince when the fox said that he would be reminded of the little prince whenever he saw the wheat fields because they were the same colour as the prince's hair. That was what would make formerly meaningless wheat fields very special to him.
