[ elizabeth g. purtell ] Having lived by myself for only a few short months (as opposed to living with my parents before) I've found it to be very satisfying. I've always considered myself a "people" person-- meaning I *love* to meet and socialize with people the majority of the time. I'm spend very little time at home, but when I do need a break or a rest from the "faster" pace, it's there. I can choose or not choose to invite anyone in (including a SO) depending on my mood. I can also leave the dishes piled up and the bed unmade, dirty laundry (and *yes*, stockings in the bathroom) whenever I want. Which also means that I had to develop the responsibility to pick up after myself. (No mother there to do it for me!). Granted, there are a few lonely times, but it just takes a little initiative to get out and do something to cure it (i.e, taking night classes, working out a the health spa, or joining a bowling league). Living alone suits me just fine, and I find myself enjoying the experience! :-)
