True, but don't discount the possibility of meeting someone through a mutual
interest in biplanes.  My sister is now going out with a pilot who flies
antique airplanes.  They met when she went out to look at the planes, inquired
about getting a ride, and was told she could exchange work on the planes for
rides.  She started working there on the weekends, one thing led to another,
and before long...  (BTW, she is now studying for her own pilot's license).
