Lines: 15 I'm posting this here but I think it really ought to be in net.sport.baseball.statistic.obscure.most While watching last night's Angel-Yankee game (8/29), the Angel pitcher McCaskill hit the Yankee batter, Don Baylor, in the first inning with a pitch. Phil Rizzuto then promptly informed us that this was a new major league record. This was Baylor's 190th career hit-by-pitcher in the _first_ inning, breaking the old record of 189 held by Minnie Minoso. GEEZ, I wonder who holds the record for the second inning? :-) Having gotten my weekly allotment of trivia in only one inning I switched the dial over to channel 9 to watch the Mormons and Catholics argue some pigskin theology.
