This day in baseball:

On Aug. 29, 1977, Lou Brock of the St. Louis Cardinals stole base no. 893,
breaking Ty Cobb's modern record for career stolen bases.

And now, for the trivia quiz:

    1) Where and against which team did Lou break the record?

    2) Who was the pitcher at the time?

    3) Who was the batter at the time?

    [ 4) Who would have been befitting to be at the plate at the time?
	 i.e., who was the batter for  (what seemed like) the
