I'm not sure what year but it was about > 3-4 years ago. The Angels lost to the Orioles in the 1980 LCS, and went up 2-0 on Milwaukee in the 1982 LCS, only to lose three straight and miss the Series. I think the Angels are the oldest team in the major leagues not to have made a Series appearance, tho I'm pretty sure there are several teams that have not appeared in a Series since before the Angels were formed.
