So far, so good. > AFC WEST: My heart is with the Chiefs but I have to be realistic. > The Seahawks and Raiders are just to steady. I do reserve > the right to place the Broncos in the playoffs if Elway > should get injured, however. I would seriously like to know: why is everyone so down on Elway? I could see it if you were a Colts fan (a question to all those who don't already live there: would YOU want to live in Baltimore/D.C. area? GAG!! Can you blame him? :-) Back to football: the man has TALENT. He needs to mature a little, which means reduce the tendency to panic (which I think he improved quite a lot at last year) and reduce the tendency to throw uncatchable bullets. There is no one better at escaping the rush, and he's big enough to do some serious running (although it gives Dan Reeves grey hairs when he does!). With a little seasoning, I think Elway has the potential to be one of the best in the game. He reminds me of Roger Staubach in terms of playing style. I think Roger called a better game (but that came from experience), but Elway's arm is amazing. All he needs is a little experience, and then look out. I've already seen some pretty amazing plays. He just lacks a little consistency. Too bad HE doesn't have anyone worth throwing to. Well, there is Steve Watson, but when you only have one decent receiver, you can count on him always being double-covered. Watson continues to have good years anyway. What the Broncos need is a deep threat. A running attack wouldn't hurt either! :-) > NFC EAST: The 'Skins are the safe pick here. True. > The most inspiring aspect of this upcoming season is that > the Cowpies will probably not even go .500. Yahoo!!!!! YAY!!! I can't WAIT to watch the Skins trounce Dallas again! > NFC CENTRAL: Even though I am a die-hard Packer fan, I have to go > with the Bears in this division. Realistic of you! > NFC WEST: The 49ers appear to be the clear-cut best again. Can't argue with that. > P.S. Isn't this fun??? Yeah! Too bad I have to be a Bronco fan... :-) --Greg "Broncomaniac" Woods
