Sure Bet:
    Larry Bird		Back pains during his golf tournament; didn't work
    			out at rookie/free agent camp in Marshfield
    Robert Parish	Still slated to be starting Center
    Kevin McHale	No more a Sixth Man
    Sam Vincent		Signed 3-year "guaranteed" contract.
    Dennis Johnson	Although unsigned, both sides are being
    			professional and cordial. The marriage should
			continue.
    Danny Ainge		Still considered a starter, but a trade wouldn't be
			surprising.

Still in the Plans:

    Scott Wedman	Sound punch off the bench. Typical Role player now.

Where Are My Boxing Gloves?:

    Rick Carlisle	Had a good summer; continues to impress brass
    Greg Kite		Can't understand why they like Ronnie Williams and
			Lamb...
    Carlos Clark	MISSED camp; free agent; was paid $65K for 2.7
    			average; umm... CBA?
    Quinn Buckner	There must be a place for him in the organization.
			He's had a glorious career.

So Long, It's Been Good to Know Ya:

    M.L. Carr		Currently serving in front office as scout. Could
    			take over scouting if/when Jimmie Rodgers accepts
			a head coach offer, and Ed Badger is moved to the
			bench.
    Cedric Maxwell	He will become a new LA Clipper, hooked up with old
			teammate and friend Don Chaney. Book on Max is that
			Red is thoroughly "put out" that Max didn't work
			harder to rehab the knee. This makes two of the
			last 3 years that Max has "coasted", working hard
			only for the contract in 1984. He is now considered
			persona non greena. BUT, Celtics will get Bill
			Walton in what could be the Trade of the Question
			Marks. Both sides eager to try the other out.
    Ray Williams	It seems his Boston probation did little to reverse
			Ray-Ray's enigmatic image. Boston will hold his
			rights in an effort to get some compensation for
			the two second-round draft picks they gave to New
			York for him in the first place. A rather sad
			story, whose taint will no doubt fall on the pate
			of GM Jan Volk, rather than the lustrous crown of
			Red Auerbach.

$40K is all right by me:

    Ronnie Williams	A solid camp, will be invited back this month
    ... Lamb		I forgot his first name, but the brass liked him.
    Andre Battle	Finally out from under the shadow of Alfrederick
    			the Great, he could be a backcourt gunner.

The Future is Biased:

    Horace Broadnax	Worked out during the camp. No words. Could the
    			Georgetown point guard be another "Red coup"?
    Len Bias		I think the Celtics will sign him however they can.
			Truly impressed.
