Well sports fans, no sooner were the bits encoded in this wondrous summary
of an article than the Celtics announced that Quinn Buckner, one of the few
men to win an NBA, NCAA, and Olympic championship, was traded to the
Indiana Pacers for a second round draft pick in any year before 1990. This
trade had been rumored months before, but with the Celtics receiving Jerry
Sichting instead of the pick. An Indiana #2 would probably replace one of
the #2's traded to New York for Ray Williams. With ML retired, the Celtics
now have only 11 returnees from their 1985 squad ( They were carrying 13
people at the end of the year, with Rick Carlisle on "injured reserve").
