It is not true that Pine Valley is a suburb of Philadelphia.  Last
week a radio station in Chicago was playing AMC trivia for prizes.
This question raised a lot of controversy because everyone was sure
that PV was in New York.  The game said it is a mythical town and is
not supposed to be in any state.  The DJ called the script consultant
for AMC.  She has been with the show since it first started and is in
charge of script integrity, making sure that the story lines have never
conflicted. She said that Pine Valley is mythical and the scripts have
never intimated otherwise.  

It seems to me, though, that Erica did a lot of commuting to New York
when she was modeling and married to Tom Cudahy.
