] diff between (1 vax @ 30 users ea) and (3 small machines @ 10 users ea)
] is keeping software updates in sync.

The other difference is that when you have 1 failure, you get either
(0 vaxen @ 0 users) or (2 small machines @ 15 slower-running users ea).
