	Larry Campbell (campbell@maynard.UUCP) was complaining about
	disappearing disk space.  One possibility is that some program
	(perhaps something in the news system, since you mentioned it)
	is creating a temporary file and then unlinking (deleting) it
	without closing it.  Whatever amount of space the open unlinked
	file uses will be invisibly taken until the program closes it or
	the system crashes.
