Or is Sony charging $50 > (list) for 218ES? :-) > The 520ES is identical IN FUNCTION to the 302 with the exception of an extra search speed activated by putting the player into pause mode. This search speed raises the already far too high slow search speed of about 15 sec/sec 3x to 45 sec/sec. The 520 also has tighter spec'd and higher quality components and a 3-year (vs. 1 year) warranty. Audibly, I've been told they're statistically almost indistinguishable. The high speed search mode is useful for discs with only one track on them, like the Dutoit/Daphnis & Chloe. However, I would have liked a slower slow search speed to nail position to the second. Right now, it takes a light touch on the advance button to get within 2-3 seconds of a desired time hack. the wandering squash, -- Shaun Simpkins uucp: {ucbvax,decvax,chico,pur-ee,cbosg,ihnss}!teklabs!tekcad!vice!shauns CSnet: shauns@tek ARPAnet:shauns.tek@rand-relay Brought to you by Super Global Mega Corp .com
