It's a '61 Buick Special (just like the first car I ever owned), and I am only its third owner. It has 73,000 original miles. For all you metric fans, that's 125,000 kilometers. The interior is perfect, the engine (aluminum block 215 cubic inch V8 [3.5 liter]) hums like a a little top -- in fact all it needs is shocks and paint. The original bill of sale ($3,028.00) and Owner's Manual were in the glove compartment. Sorry, I don't know the formula to convert dollars to metric. ;-) Needless to say, I want to keep it as well as it has been kept in the past, but I'd really prefer an original shop manual over the Chilton's. Does anyone know a decent source for that kind of thing? Does anyone have such a manual the'd be willing to sell or give to a good home? My J.C. Whitney catalog is on the way, so I don't know yet if they carry them or not. Also, under the hood, mounted over the right wheel-well is a bracket that I had previously seen on a '62 BS. My first one didn't even have the bracket, but on the '62, it held a pint (half litre) bottle of a clear liquid. Any ideas what the liquid might have been? I suspect possibly starting fluid (ether? alcohol?) but really don't have a clue. Any of you 'Vette owners want to drag for pink slips? My "vanity" plate is going to read: ___________________ | | | S P A T I A L | | | ------------------- Thanks - Gary Benson -- Ensign Benson -Space Cadet- _-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-The Digital Circus, Sector R-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_ Brought to you by Super Global Mega Corp .com
