I have a S-500 voice activated light switch unit that is supposed to replace  my
normal run-of-the-mill up/down light switch.  The problem is that the S-500 unit
is too big to fit in the box in the wall.  I  found  a  little  piece  of  paper
floating around in the S-500 packing box that said:

The boxes in my home are the same size as all the other boxes I have seen in the
hardware  stores.  I  think the S-500 manufacturer was trying to make me believe
that my box was too small and the fact is, they blew it in  their  design.  Does
anyone  know  what  the standard size is for switch boxes in the US?  Doesn't it
make sense that the stores would carry only the  standard  sizes?  

The unit is really neat but is too sound  sensitive  and  the  variable  control
doesn't  reduce  the  sensitivity  enough.  What  would be better is an infrared
detector so a persons body heat could trigger the light switch.  Anyone  seen  a
model that you can mount in your standard size light switch box?
