All files are mailed to the instructor after they are debugged and tested. The instructor then runs the programs using COMMON data for all of the runs. If the program does not run using the data supplied by the instructor, the program is assumed to not work properly, since the user/data interface was defined by the instructor. As far as I know, this method has worked fine in a department where cheating has occurred many times. If a student is caught cheating, he/she will receive an F for the course, and optional probation if the offense is severe enough. -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------ David W.
