Furthermore, we have historically used ^\ for expand-mlisp-variable. I am setting up the local defaults as: expand-mlisp-variable ^\ quote-character ^^ search-forward ^] Altho there is some sense to using ^\ for quote, I think expand-mlisp-variable is used more.
