Seems to me like the 'tedious network debates' only become tedious because everyone keeps feeding the fire. Rather than flame, allow the fools to remain in their unitary glory as fools. Every flame brings about a desire in someone, somewhere to retaliate. Little children are especially good at this ("am not!" - "are too!" - "am not" ad infinitum). As adults, many of us seem to simply make the process more complex and involved. We give reasons for our unreasonable veiwpoints. Often I find myself suddenly in the midst of a flaming article. On to the next! Eventually the brouhaha settles down and everyone acts like adults for awhile again. Seems to me every one of us plays the fool (either inconsiderate or self righteous or any of the other variations) at one time or another.
