Bunker Ramo produces a Unix-based transaction processing system
for the banking industry. We have an opening for a senior level
software engineer in the operating systems group. This group is
responsible for all operating systems work in the product line
as well as general systems software. This includes some kernel
and general Unix work as well as development of executives
for various intelligent controllers.

The job involves a wide range of responsibilities of a systems
nature with some kernel work. This is a senior level position;
hence we are looking for someone with at least a few years
experience. Minimum one year working extensively with Unix;
knowledge of the kernel is a big plus. Networking or communications
experience beneficial. The job includes the full range of
responsibility from initial conception and architecture through
development and support; hence it is a good position for
someone who wants to do more than just write code.

We are located in Trumbull, Connecticut, which is near the southwestern
coast of the state. Manhattan is about 1-1.5 hours away; reachable for
a day or evening trip. Boston is about 2.5 hours away; reachable for a
weekend. The area is quite pretty and supports various lifestyles with
very good area schools and affordable housing. The climate is moderate
with very beautiful autumns. We will support relocation.
