"The power of belief" has now become a new medical science called
"Psychoneuroimmunology".  It seems we need a fancy technical name in
order to make it acceptable to the western mind.  Can you imagine a
university, or pharmaceutical company, funding research on "belief"?

The same thing happened on the way to "Therapeutic Touch".  Can you
imagine an institution funding research on "faith healing"?  So long
as it is called Therapeutic Touch it is acceptable to >50 schools
around the country giving postgraduate credit for training in this
particular area of psychoneuroimmunology.

For those who want to keep up on the cutting edge of this exploding
"new" field, I recommend the following:
     #1  "ADVANCES", Journal of the Institute for the Advancement
         of Health, 16 East 53rd Street, New York, NY,  10022
         This Journal's prime purpose is to provide a forum for
         research in this area.  Its style is to systemitize many
         areas of research findings into a coherent whole where, as
         in the Holistic concept:  Something in addition to, and
         separate from, any conceivable collection of the parts, is 
         created when those parts are combined.  It is written in a 
         way as to be easily understood without an extensive
         professional background.                           
     #2  "BRAIN MIND BULLETIN", P.O. Box#42211, Los Angeles, CA,
         90042.  This journal is published avery three weeks.  It 
         provides the cutting edge of research published in this area.
         It also reviewes the most significant publications in the
         field.  This one is also designed to be "readable".
