I received a letter from the cousin of a friend of mine.  The
cousin's name is Charley.  The following is an excerpt from his
letter:

I am a physicist working in Nigeira.  This means I need a computer
	which:

	1. is portable so that I can carry it back and forth between
	Nigeria and here

	2. can be operated on both 220v with 50hz as well as 110v with
	60 cycles/sec.

	3. is dust proof because during the Hamattan season the
	extremely dry Nigerian air is saturated with dust particles
	from the Sahara desert.

	4. must be highly reliable because service is practically
	non-existent.

I need a computer to perform three tasks:

	1. Curve fitting -- I mean a regression analysis using least
	square method to get the best fit of the data points.  Both
	linear and non-linear curves will be fitted.

	2. Plotting graphs -- the data must be plotted onto a
	two-dimensional graph containing the original x and y data
	points.

	3. Word processing.

I would appreciate it if anyone on the net could suggest a computer
(and/or software) fulfilling Charley's requirements.

He also asked me for advice concerning computer companies that might be
willing to donate a computer to Charley (or his university).
He teaches physics in a Nigerian university.
