They did drop from around $20, but that was over the period where CD players were not yet in wide use, so that drop may be discounted. I believe that when Christmas rolls around and the record companies want to dramatically increase their sales, we'll see these prices drop quite a bit, perhaps to around $10 on the average. One problem here is that your average consumer thinks more highly of CD's than of LP's, even though the sound quality may be the same on some recordings. (I'm not trying to start a discussion on the relative quality, etc.) The point is that the recording industry will continue to make what they can, just like the software industry. John W.
