CBEMA seems to purport itself to _be_ ANSI! It is not; it is a private profit making company much like many of the other beltway bandits subsisting on government contracts. Additionally because of prohibitions of certain conduct of government employees, the use of a contrac tor to interface with the industry representatives avoids these situations.
