Ken Fricklas, AT&T Northglenn, Colorado With the amount of self-righteousness and intolerance that exists on this network, in all groups, it would surprise me greatly if ANY note or response gets all the way through to the other end without censure, unless the topic is so innocuous that it couldn't possibly offend anyone. So much for open intel- lectual discussion forums where each individual can speak his (or her) mind without fear of retribution. In particular, note the violence levels in net.- flame. This is symptomatic of the general modality of a society (taken as a whole) which cannot abide freedom of anything if it disagrees with the "accep- ted" normals. Fear of changing "established" viewpoints/dogmas highly offends those people who are unable to formulate their own opinions. The real cause of this is closer to Orwell's 1984 than would first meet the eye. It really reminds me a lot of the "Planet of the Apes" series, juxtaposed of course.
