It may be that the frequencies that actually hear are limited (I don't know), but certainly they can hear voices, tvs, etc. I have heard that cats are partially blind. Rumours include: color blindness and not being able to see stationary objects. The former may be true. The latter is almost irrelevant. Figure: it's almost impossible to hold one's head completely immobile, so all objects (relative to one's head) are moving, and therefore visible.
