The human nervous system is alleged to be sensitive to the audio modulation
of a 20 KHz to 200 KHz electro-magnetic signal.  It is claimed that this
technique has been used to transmit speech and music to the deaf.

You can order a copy of the patent on this technique from the US Patent
Office, Crystal Springs VA.  The cost used to be 50 or 75 cents, but I
don't know what it is now.  Ask for patent #3,393,279.  The patent expired
on July 16.  Happy zapping :-)
