(I hope he wasn't much trouble to install :-) We used to have one of these magnificent creatures regularly visiting our back yard in Gainesville, FL. He pecked a hole fifteen feet long though an old basswood tree, sounding much like a small jackhammer. But when he started on the aluminum siding (not my choice BTW), it was really noisy! He never seemed to learn that it was not a good place to work for bugs (or was it?) They are certainly worth keeping an eye peeled for in wooded areas, esp. near creeks, in FL if you're there.
