Why? The main reason is that they will rarely fog up. I've had them filled with snow after doing a face plant, and when I wipe them out and put them back on, they do not fog. They are also extremely comfortable, and they work well in bright sunlight (although I prefer sunglasses in nice conditions). I believe that these goggles will fit over glasses, too. I've also heard good things about the goggles with the built-in fans (I think they are the Smith Turbos). Really expensive, though. paul beiser hewlett packard ft. collins co.
