You have to try to please > MOST of the people MOST of the time. [SHELLI MYERS] Of course our "civil rights" amendments are of paramount importance. Having equal rights should and does mean that you can be any race or ethnic group and nobody can take away any of your civil rights because of it. But the government of this country *cannot* ignore that the *majority* of people in this country are white. *That* is the key....whites are the majority, and therefore the government must cater to their needs... Some of the civil rights fanatics that I know insist that civil rights means that the government must ignore people's being of different races and nationalities and treat them all equally. However, think what it would be like if your neighborhood wasn't kept white! We'd have a big problem, because a lot of people would be pretty pissed. And for those civil rights fanatics who get pissed about discrimination against ethnic groups. REAL civil rights fanatics wouldn't even care about laws protecting the rights of special groups, because we're all supposed to be the same, right? AND...yes, unfortunately various and assorted Jews, Asian-Americans, Blacks, and other groups may not appreciate the discrimination against the, but why don't they just go back where they came from? I'm sure Don Black will appreciate this rather sick point of view, and I hope for everyone else the point is made. Apologies to William Satire for usurping his style.
